Special needs education - Bachelor of Education - Module 3 (PO 2017)
In Module 3, students must take an integrated oral final module examination (MAP) on the content of the two introductory lectures (on the focal points of learning and emotional-social development) in accordance with the study regulations. The MAP3 takes place during the lecture-free period and lasts 30 minutes. The MAP3 consists of two parts:
Part 1: Special topic
Part 2: Open questions on the course content
Special topic: The MAP begins with the special topic. If you are assigned an examiner from the Emotional-Social Development department, the special topic can be chosen freely from the range of topics covered in the introductory lectures in Module 3 (Learning and Emotional-Social Development). It is then not necessary to discuss this topic during consultation hours. Allow a maximum of 10 minutes for the special topic. The special topic is primarily about formulating a specific, self-chosen question, discussing it on the basis of theories and empirical findings and finally answering it. 10 minutes is short! Please bear this in mind when preparing.
Open questions: In the second part of the exam, open questions are asked on all content of the two lectures (emotional-social development and learning). This means that questions on learning will also be asked if you are being examined by an examiner from the Emotional-Social Development section.
Assessment criteria: For the assessment of an oral MAP, the pure reproduction of the content from the courses is a necessary prerequisite, but not a sufficient criterion for a (very) good grade. Students who are aiming for a (very) good grade should be able to combine the different contents. We recognise this in the examination by the fact that you know and name various relevant theories, concepts and empirical findings from the courses
a),
b) compare them with each other on the basis of relevant arguments,
c) evaluate them and
d) draw conclusions for school practice.
The (correct) use of specialised language shows that you have dealt with the subject matter at a professional level. Another important criterion for a (very) good grade is that you are able to research new literature, are familiar with relevant empirical findings outside the subject matter taught in the courses and can critically reflect on the content.
Registration for the examination: The registration period for the examination will be announced in both lectures. It is not possible to select an examination date by e-mail.
Selection of examiners: In Module 3 you will be examined by
- Prof Dr Michael Grosche
- Prof Dr Christian Huber
- Prof Dr Friedrich Linderkamp
- Prof Dr Gino Casale
- Dr Markus Spilles
- Dr Gunnar Bruns
examined. Depending on the semester and the size of the group to be examined, further examiners may be added. It is not possible to select the examiners. You will only be informed by the Examination Office who will examine you once you have decided on an examination date.
