Contents and orientation of the courses
As part of the SPF6a lecture and the associated SPF6b seminar, you will learn about diagnostic strategies for impairments in emotional-social development. You will learn methods of problem identification and procedures for the (support) diagnostic classification of behavioural disorders (e.g. screenings, standardised interviews, anamnesis techniques). You will also learn about behavioural assessment procedures, how to evaluate them and how to critically reflect on the resulting findings. In the seminar, you will look in detail at how you can use systematic methods (e.g. exploration, functional behaviour analysis or test procedures) to identify and narrow down problems and derive individual support hypotheses through targeted micro-analyses. With reference to specific diagnostic profiles, an insight into evidence-based programmes for the promotion of emotional-social development is also provided.
As part of the SPF6c lecture and the SPF6d seminar, the basics of educational-psychological counselling are taught. You will learn the basics of communication processes in the context of school and family. We deal with the basics of educational-psychological counselling models (e.g. client-centred conversation, systemic counselling models, solution-oriented counselling, cognitive-behavioural counselling) and the evaluation of these models with regard to different client groups (e.g. pupils, parents, colleagues). We will introduce you to different methods of (self-)reflection (e.g. collegial case counselling, supervision, multi-professional teamwork). In the seminar, you will have the opportunity to select, apply and critically reflect on the opportunities and limitations of selected counselling models against the background of a counselling assignment. Based on selected counselling models, the seminar also discusses targeted questioning and analysis methods, de-escalating conversation techniques and methods of conflict resolution, mediation and supervision.
